Dr. Carolyn Feltus-Atkinson

Dr. Feltus came to Melbourne in 1989 after finishing her training in Pediatrics. She attended Rollins College for her undergraduate degree in Biology and the University of South Florida for Medical School as well as for her Pediatric internship and residency. Dr. Feltus was inducted into AOA, the Medical School Honor Society, and served as Chief Resident while at USF.

Dr. Feltus practiced in Melbourne and Melbourne Beach until 2006 when she had to take a medical leave. Dr. Feltus has greatly missed her patients and is excited to resume practicing part-time, partnering with Teena Sanders APRN in order to provide

pediatric primary care 5 days per week at Surfside Pediatrics.

Dr. Feltus lives in Melbourne Beach with her husband Dr. Andrew Atkinson. She has three grown children, Alyse, Michelle and Brian. She enjoys reading, writing, cooking and gardening.

"As a Pediatrician I am tasked with not only treating patients when they are ill, but counseling the whole family on strategies to keep them healthy and safe."

Teena Sanders

Teena Sanders has been a certified   pediatric nurse practitioner for over 25 years and has worked in every area of pediatrics, including neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, children's hospitals, community and school based clinics, private practice as well as serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Teena received her Bachelor's of Nursing Degree from Cedarville University in Ohio and Master's degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Teena moved to Florida in 1994 with her husband David. They have three children, Hallie, Jolie and Philip and now also have a wonderful son-in-law, Asa.  She has a passion for education and has taught pediatric nursing and nurse practitioner students at Cedarville University, University of Central Florida and University of Colorado, as well as home schooling her three children.

Teena is very excited to practice with Dr. Feltus at Surfside Pediatrics and to care for patients as if they were family. Teena loves to encourage, educate, and provide thorough care to her patients and their families, assisting them to be healthy and strong. Teena enjoys running, gardening and entertaining friends when not working.
